What information Voxy may process
Voxy is designed to help you speak, translate and communicate across languages. Depending on how you use the app, it may process:
- audio captured from your microphone when you use voice input;
- transcriptions of your speech produced by speech recognition;
- translations of your speech or text into a selected target language;
- the language selections and preferences you set;
- translated text you choose to copy or share;
- device information needed for the app to work, such as your device type and operating system.
Anything you say or type into Voxy can contain personal information. Please treat what you say through the app with care, as described below.

Why the information is processed
Voxy processes the information above to provide the features you use, including capturing your speech, converting it to text, translating it into your chosen language and reading translations aloud. Voxy does not listen in the background or record conversations you have not asked it to translate. You remain in control of when speech is captured.

Voice and speech capture
Voxy accesses your microphone only when you use a feature that needs it, such as pressing the microphone button to speak. Audio is captured for the purpose of recognising and translating what you say. It is not continuously recorded, and Voxy does not listen when you are not using a voice feature.

Translation and external processing
To translate between languages, Voxy may send the text you want translated to a translation service. The service processes the text so it can return a translation to the app. This transmission happens only when you use translation, and only for the content needed to provide that feature.
When translation is used, the external service's own terms and privacy practices may also apply. Before translating speech or text that contains sensitive personal information, you should be aware that the content is being sent to that service to be translated.

Text-to-speech
When Voxy reads a translation aloud, the spoken audio is generated on your device using your device's text-to-speech capabilities. The translated text is not uploaded to us for this purpose, and the audio is not stored by us.

Care with sensitive conversations
Please exercise care when translating sensitive information. Before speaking or typing anything that contains sensitive personal or financial information, consider whether you need to, and check which features are enabled. If translation uses an external service, the content may be sent to that service. You are responsible for what you choose to translate.

Permissions used by the app
Depending on the platform and the features you use, Voxy may request permissions such as:
- microphone access, so you can speak and have your words recognised;
- permission to use your device's text-to-speech engine, so translations can be read aloud.
You can control these permissions through your device settings. If you do not grant microphone access, you will not be able to use voice input, though other features may still work.

Third-party services
Voxy is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, whose terms and privacy practices apply to your purchase and account with them. If you use translation, an external translation service may process the text you choose to send, as described above. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention
Voxy does not store your conversations on our behalf simply because you use the app. Translated text you copy or share is stored in the apps and services you choose to share it with, according to their own practices. Any information processed by a third-party translation service is retained according to that service's terms and our processing instructions, and only for as long as needed to provide the relevant feature.

Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect information processed through Voxy from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help protect your information by keeping your device secure and using its built-in security features.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to personal information, including the right to access, correct or delete information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Deletion
Because Voxy does not store your translations on our behalf, deleting the app removes the app from your device. You can clear permissions and data through your device settings, and you can delete translated text you have copied to other apps by deleting it there. You may also ask us to delete personal information we hold about you by contacting hello@ojpapps.com.

Children's privacy
Voxy is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Voxy, contact us at hello@ojpapps.com and we will take steps to address it.

International processing
If you use Voxy outside the United Kingdom, and you use translation, the text you send may be transmitted to, and processed in, countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to protect information when it is processed by third-party services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last changed. Continued use of Voxy after changes are made means you accept the updated policy, where permitted by law.
