OJP StudyPilot Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the OJP StudyPilot mobile application ("StudyPilot"). StudyPilot is provided by OJP Applications Ltd, a company registered in England (company number 12530029), whose website is https://ojpapps.com/. By downloading, installing or using StudyPilot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use StudyPilot.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

   By downloading, installing, accessing or using StudyPilot, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use StudyPilot on behalf of an educational institution, employer or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. What StudyPilot does

   StudyPilot helps you organise study material, scan notes and handouts, import PDFs, extract text through OCR, generate summaries, flashcards and quizzes, plan exams and track study time. It does not submit assessments, enrol you in courses or take exams on your behalf; you remain responsible for your own study and any work you submit.

3. OCR and AI-generated content may contain errors

   OCR and AI-assisted generation are not always accurate. Text extracted from material, and AI-generated summaries, flashcards and quizzes, may contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies. You should always verify generated content against your original notes and textbooks before relying on it.

4. Verify generated study content

   You are responsible for verifying that extracted text, summaries, flashcards and quizzes are correct. Do not rely on StudyPilot output alone for assessments, coursework or other work that depends on the accuracy of the underlying material.

5. Generated content is informational

   AI-generated summaries, flashcards and quizzes are provided for convenience and study purposes only. They are not a substitute for reading the full material, and they do not represent educational, legal, financial, medical or professional advice.

6. Academic integrity

   You are responsible for using StudyPilot in accordance with the rules of your educational institution and the requirements of any course or assessment. Where your institution prohibits certain tools or requires attribution, you must follow those rules. StudyPilot is a study aid; the work you submit is yours.

7. Permission to process material

   You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to photograph, scan, import and process any material you add to StudyPilot, including any personal data of other people contained in that material. Only import material you are entitled to process.

8. Eligibility

   You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter into a binding agreement in your country, to use StudyPilot. If you are under the age required in your country to consent to the processing of personal data, a parent or guardian should review these Terms and the Privacy Policy with you.

9. Licence to use StudyPilot

   Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use StudyPilot on devices you own or control, for your personal study purposes. The licence does not allow you to redistribute, resell, reverse engineer or copy StudyPilot other than as permitted by law.

10. User responsibilities

    You are responsible for the material and information you add to StudyPilot, for keeping your device secure, and for how you use the content it generates. You should keep your original notes and textbooks as your authoritative study sources.

11. Acceptable use

    You agree not to misuse StudyPilot, including by attempting to access or disrupt the service, reverse engineering the app, using it for unlawful purposes, or importing material you are not entitled to process.

12. Subscriptions and purchases

    StudyPilot may be offered on a free basis and as paid subscriptions, for example "StudyPilot Pro". Prices for subscriptions are presented in the relevant app store before you purchase. Features, pricing and plans may change from time to time.

13. Renewals and cancellation

    Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with the relevant app store rules. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple or Google account, depending on where you purchased it. Unless you cancel, your subscription will continue until the end of the then-current period.

14. Apple and Google billing relationship

    Purchases of StudyPilot made through the Apple App Store are billed and managed by Apple. Purchases made through Google Play are billed and managed by Google. Their terms, policies and refund rules apply to those purchases, and payment disputes should be directed to the relevant store in the first instance.

15. Third-party services

    If you enable a feature of StudyPilot that uses an external OCR or AI provider, that provider is a third party, and your use of such features is subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices in addition to these Terms. We are not responsible for third-party services you configure or enable.

16. Intellectual property

    StudyPilot and all content, features and branding in it are owned by OJP Applications Ltd or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Your use of StudyPilot does not give you any ownership in it. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.

17. Availability

    We aim to keep StudyPilot available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. Updates may be required, and some features may depend on your device, operating system and app store.

18. Disclaimers

    StudyPilot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that OCR or AI features will be accurate, that StudyPilot will meet your expectations, or that the service will be uninterrupted or secure. Nothing in these Terms limits warranties that cannot be excluded by law.

19. Limitation of liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, OJP Applications Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of StudyPilot, including reliance on generated content or study results. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

20. Termination

    We may suspend or terminate your access to StudyPilot if you breach these Terms. You may stop using StudyPilot at any time by deleting the app. Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

21. Changes to these Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when they were last changed. Continued use of StudyPilot after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms, where permitted by law.

22. Governing law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you may have under the law of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by law.
